Miracle- Hello! guinea/chicken crossbreed

Wow! Just ... wow! I've been hanging around here on BYC for 3-4 months now, and hadn't run across Miracle's story yet -- can't believe it -- and just read all 40+ pages. Such a great story! It has everything: a baby who's different from the others, a mystery (he or she?), suspense (gone overnight), everything! And Mena, you have a real talent for writing -- seriously! It would take some research to figure out how to go about publishing, but I REALLY think it could work. And you even have great photos to illustrate it with, and a great portrait for the cover. I love it! I just ... LOVE it!!

Thank you so much! I'm working on it. Bought the book for dummies.

You are right that the portrait would make an awesome cover!!!!

Mena

Mena nice to hear from you, even if Miracle isn't talking. Hope you and yours have a wonderful Easter, and the eggs you find are golden.

i would be flattered to have his/her portrait in there somewhere- i am just so in love with the gorgeous miracle= i did touch up the portrait some, my perfectionism strikes again, all the other pictures of guins don't hold a candle to our Miracle....

Hello from Miracle,

The bread store! We got bread from the bread store!

Everyone in the whole barnyard is so happy. Even the horses. Every afternoon we get some bread for a treat. We try really hard to be polite about it but sometimes there is some pushing and shoving. Then we all settle down and everyone gets their share. Most of the time I am a shy bird but not when there is something good to eat! I'm as fast as lightning when I see something I want. I usually grab a big piece of bread and run away with it. Little Bit and Rascal follow me and we go away from the older birds and share it. See them behind me? They were saying "Get a big piece, Miracle!".

Do you think I look like a chicken or a guinea?

Goodbye for now.

Miracle, I think the best of chicken and quinea are blended in you. You did get a big piece of bread. Are you eating plain white bread or do you hold out for multigrain? My favorite is pumpernickel hot from the oven. Hmm hmmm good!!

It is a good thing that Miracle likes his/her feathers spikey. It is natural, too.
No stickey hair products at all. Wouldn't some folks just love to have hair like that!

I am so glad that I found this post. Miracle is an absolutely stunning bird! It's funny that I came across this post because earlier today I was thinking about whether or not chickens could even breed with Guineas. There are a few that free range the area and since my girls will be free range in my yard during the day, I was curious about a secret Guinea/chicken meet up.
