Dukes is a mayo. Take a look at labels. As I said, the only reason I pay the higher price for the Hellman's is because it's guaranteed to be gluten free. I read the label on the store brand (walmart, the only grocery store within an hours drive around here). There are things in there that don't belong in mayo.

I see thank you....I can't read duke's or hellman's labels since they are not in our stores here. I'll check what I buy says on the label.

ETA: How long does the homemade mayo last being refrigerated?

Maybe longer than that. I just checked the jar I have, that is so old I don't remember when I bought it. Best by date is October 2011.

That date is when it is best to open it by not once it is open....not sure how long it last for we use it too fast to worry about it.

Best by dates refer to when the manufacturer believes the quality of the product will start deteriorating, whether it is opened or not.
Use by dates refer to when it is possible that the product is no longer safe to eat.

There is no one answer to how long to store opened mayo. It would depend on how it is stored, How it was made, and the ingredients used.
Maybe a good rule of thumb would be:
Homemade 1-7 days stored in a refrigerator.
Commercial 3-12 months depending on how acidic it is; and preservatives used; and how old it already is.
Check with the manufacturer to be sure.

Tried making some mayo while a go with what was laying around. 2 whole eggs, veggy oil, salt, pepper, vinegar, lemon juice. Did it in a regular blender. It turned out a little thinner than store stuff but made for great hot dogs. Pretty good for my first try.
