Mis shaped egg !

I have a 10 month old Russian Orloff hen who has been laying normal eggs and then today layed this. What caused this? Should I change something?

I don't see a photo so I don't know what you are talking about. Maybe try to post the photo again?

A hen's internal egg making factory is pretty complicated. If she has been laying regular eggs and this is just one that's "off", I figure we are all entitled to an oops every now and then. If it becomes regular it may be more than an oops.

I've never seen anything like that and don't know what could have caused it. Misshapen eggs are one thing but that's out of the ball park.

I still say if it only happens once, it's not a problem. If it becomes a regular occurrence then something is going on but I would not have a clue on how to fix it.

Okay thank you, I think some of our older hens lay the long eggs from time to time.
