Mislead by organic label?

Organic grain farmers who produce the Organic grains in Organic chicken feed can and routinely do spray their crops with Roundup herbicide to promote faster ripening or drying off of their grain crop. That way they can combine the dry grain before bad weather hits and prevents the crop from being harvested by mechanical means. It is perfectly legit under the rules of Organic Agriculture. Better ask yourself, what is more sustainable than a farmer turning a profit?

In order to label a product as 'organic', the rules and certification must be done. It's pretty difficult, and expensive, which is why organic products cost more. Selling eggs as organic if they aren't, is not a good thing. Mary

Why do you keep repeating this lie? They can spray it with round up, but tney can' t sell it as organic.

Like every other law or rule out there, could it be that the certification process for organic varies from state to state? I would think that Roundup or any other chemical use would render the certification void.

Oh so true land and other animals must be inline to get the label organic. My egg buyer don't care they know how we raise them and are happy to pay 3 times the going rate for our eggs. And as soon as my bcm contribute to that egg carton. I'm sure we will have more people wanting our colorful dozon of eggs.:)

In Missouri if you have used roundup in like the last two year it will kill getting the label. In fact chickens are feed from day 1 organic. So that rules out a lot unless your hatching yourself.
