Miss labeled I think...

I got a dozen and a half of random eggs from a farm. The woman labeled the eggs and labeled French Black Copper Maran as FBCM. The first chick that hatched out of a egg labeled FBCM was black, as expected. The next chick that hatched out of a dark brown egg labeled FBCM was yellow! Solid yellow. So my question is (and think I already know the answer) there is no way a FBCM could be white/light colored, right? I’ve emailed/texted her but no response yet... any input would be great on guesses of breed. Thanks!

Supposedly quite a few people on here have seemed to get white chicks from FBCM eggs. Not sure if it's mistaken identity or if it's a genetic thing

Ya there's quite a few lines that carry recessive white. Enough that there's several breeders and Hatcheries selling pure white line Marans now.
Can't say if that's the case with yours or not.
