I have 5 chickens (9 weeks old) and yesterday it was almost time to bring them in but a rainstorm came very quickly and it got dark very fast. We looked for them but I don't think they could've heard us with the hard rain. So we hoped for the best and this morning we went out and 4 chickens popped out from under the porch. We took them in but of course there was one chicken that wasn't there. It was the leader! The biggest one too. A white leghorn. We were checking under the porch and calling but there was no sound. It was still dripping and wet at this point. We got a light and saw an abnormal amount of white feathers. Not too many but enough to make you go hmmm. I looked at other posts and they were saying that predators don't hunt in the rain, but I'm still not sure. If you read this far thank you, as I'm new to this and I'm really sad!

Sorry for the circumstances. Predators hunt when they are hungry and when food is available. Keep your birds penned up until you determine what is going on. Good luck.
