Missing eggs from under broody hen while enclosed at night

We have 2 broody hens sitting on eggs however one disappeared so we put a door on front of their nesting box and lock them up at night but another one has disappared possibly during the day whole it was open. Any thoughts?

What disappeared? The chicken or the egg?
 
Rats will also eat chicken eggs on occasion. Don't know how one would have gotten an egg out from under a hen, though. I wonder if one of the hens could be eating the eggs?
 
Yeah we thought maybe the dog but she can't get in. Ive no idea how the thing is getting the eggs while the hens are sitting.

I'm in Aus
Chances are the eggs were bad & the hen(s) pushed them away & found a way to get them over the wall & into the main coop. If they're not there, possibly a snake got in & took them, or took them right out from under the hen?
