Missing feather on 5 week chick

Hey all. My cochin Bantam has some missing feather by her ear. The other side has a bald spot but not as large. I didn't notice this on her yesterday. Any ideas?

She has a sister same age. Sister is a little more dominant but there definitely hasn't been any aggression.

No, it's a larger space than her ear lope on the other side. It's a significant gap.

It's not her "sister" sister. Ones a cochin and the other is an Easter egger. So it won't help for comparison. I'll try and snap a shot of the other side.

Looks like an ear lobe to me. The two lobes could be different sizes. If it’s not the lobe, she could have gotten pecked or she could just be missing feathers there.

Yea, it's not her ear lobe. Its next to it, but it's not it. I was just worried maybe it was a parasite or something. It doesn't appear red or irritated, there are just feathers missing that weren't the other day.

Just to take precautions put some blue or black color on remaining feathers in red areas to discourage pecking you could be missing.

Just shy of six weeks. Both are Bantams, so I know they kind of grow and show differently. Scramble is the mottled cochin. Much more red comb than vindaloo, whose comb is still small and yellow.

P. S. That missing feathers by the ear turned out to be, as you all insisted... Her ear lobe.
