Hi all, I am real new to chickens, like 3m. I set up a coop and got a few chicks form my local feed store. The 6 of them although diferent breeds are roughly the same size and age. they seem to get along great and i find them sleeping togeather at dusk every night. When they had "feathered out" to the best of my knowlege i moved them outside to the coop. They all seem fine, eating good, and active. They have been out there for like a week, i notice today that a few of them where missing feathers from around where there ears are. like on the side of there faces. any ideas why? i dont see any signs of mites or anything. any advice on this problem or other helpful tips for the future

are they possibly moulting? Sometimes mine moult in raggedy patches and look awful and bare here and there, then new feathers and then they look good again. And no eggs in the moulting time.

Idk if thats it or not they are only 3months old so their not laying yet i guess i will just have to give it time and see what happens
