I have 12 hens no with no roosters and a couple days ago I noticed only 1 of my hens is missing a lot of feathers around her tail/lower back area

I have done some research and found that if the hens are low on protein they will pluck feathers from each other???? Is this true???

How do I increase their protein?
I am feeding layer crumble
Hens are around 10-11 months. Got them last spring late April Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

How big is their run/ coop area? Sometimes they pull feathers when they are crowded. If you are feeding layer pellets they are probably getting close to the amount of protein needed.

Do the s pend a lot of time in the coop? If so maybe they are crowded . Maybe she is the bottom of the pecking order. Getting picked on by the other girls.
