Missing feathers, infected?

This is Gloria and she is about 4 weeks old. I got her from a farm that was overcrowded and had a rooster problem. Her back and tail feathers are I poor shape. Someone had suggested coconut oil. Thoughts? Also what can I feed her to increase feather growth. She won't eat eggs or oatmeal. I have ordered some BOSS and it should be here tomorrow. She is in quarantine for 30 days.

Try some raw egg mixed in with her feed and a little water. My chicks usually don't like any food the first time it is offered (cooked egg, yogurt,) but will eat it after a time or two. Chickens tend to have a high pain threshold, and a sick chicken may just look lethargic or sleepy. The reason I recommended Tylan 50 is that it is often easy to find at feed stores, and that it only requires a small amount to give when one is not taking fluids well. With most antibiotics, if you don't see improvement within 2-3 days, I would move on to the Tylan. I may be offline for awhile over the next week or so, but I will catch up later.

So do you feel it is infected then? I am just not sure what I should be looking for.

I saw you video of her on the BO thread. She is so sweet.

These are the most current photos of her?

Keep applying your plain neosporin/coconut oil and watch for signs of oozing, pus or odors. She has an oil gland in the area that she was plucked, so don't mess with that unless it looks like it is really inflamed.
