Missing Feathers-New Rooster Too Rough?

Ever since our new rooster became old enough to mate with our chickens, a few of our chickens began having missing feathers. There all in the same places. I'm thinking the new too is just too rough, but I don't want to overlook another problem. Has anyone seen this before?

This is happening with my rooster to, its just establishing pecking order. My rooster as I was saying only gets our easter Eggers all in the same spot on there lower back since they try to be dominant, now they have worked everything out and I get fertile eggs.

Yes it is common with younger roosters ...I call this Rooster Damage
You can get saddles or aprons for them ..You might want to increase their protein so the feather come back quicker

Yes this is very common! He's just trying to show dominants! However, It does take a while for them to grown them out again!

When we had a roo, his favorites had missing back feathers, they were the ones that liked him and would squat for him. The ones he liked who did not like him had feathers missing from their necks, they would pull away and just leave him standing there looking confused. LOL We got saddles for the favorites.

That Hen is his favourite....Its not dominance at all, its breeding...You said he is new and once he is settled in more he should calm down....

They'll all get better at it. Are the hens the same age? Pullet feathers are a bit softer than adult feathers so they'll get stronger when they grow back. Keep in mind that bald spots will still happen, especially with favorites and it tends to be more disturbing for humans then the chickens.

How many hens do you have in there for him? I agree with everyone that says it's a favorite thing. If you only have a few hens with him, he could be potentially overeating all of them.
