One of my brown leghorn girls (I have 2 of this type) is missing feathers consistently in two areas on her body: lower back and beneath her underside.

None of the other 9 girls Have anything similar going on.

I thought maybe a fight caused her to lose them on her back but then I noticed the underside. This has been a consistent thing too for a few weeks now. No new feathers.

Is this pecking order and her getting pecked at or something else?

it’s cold here in Colorado and I worry about her getting frost bite with exposed skin.

I’m looking for any help identifying root cause and remedies.

Could it be disease or lice? Getting picked on? She is smaller than the other birds.

She is 7 months old.

Thanks.

She is being plucked by another bird(s). For some reason, they always seem to pluck butt feathers! Is your RIR also getting plucked - her butt looks a little sparse.
How much space for how many chickens? What are you feeding them?
Can you spend some time watching the dynamics of your flock to determine who the plucker is?

Thanks very much for the reply.
