Missing feathers

Hello all, I have a hen with 2 chicks about 7 weeks old, One has all its feathers and can fly to roost with mom wherever she decides, the other has few adult feathers, mostly down like a baby chick, because of this it cannot stick with mom or roost in the trees, any ideas? They both seem healthy otherwise and run around with mom all day long.

They should eventually feather out in the next weeks. Where are you keeping them to sleep safely? Are your chickens safe roosting in the trees at night? Do they have a coop or are they mostly on their own?

They mostly sleep in the trees once old enough, other than a very rare snake or oppossum we have very little issue with predators and being in central America, the climate is never really an issue. The one feathered weeks ago and has been flying well without issue, the other can hop, for now he sleeps in one of the raised houses I have for the younger ones
