Missing the head only

Two birds are gone, one completely. One just the head. Not a bird of prey, completely enclosed. I would be pretty sure it was a coon, except the hole is too small for a coon, but they have gotten through my fencing before.

Was the hole big enough to drag a chicken thru?

I still vote mink. I have not had them take a whole bird, but my neighbor has. She knew it was a mink because it came into her coop one day as she was out there working. (Her coop was an old trailer house, and the mink came in under the refrigerator - scared her half to death!) I have had them eat the heads off my chickens. Well, not the whole head, but they ate the backs of the heads.

I'm going to vote weasel or mink.
If you have water close by mink is possible.
Missing heads here usually mean a weasel. While they won't carry a large chicken they do drag them quite a way here, 50 metres or so.

I am going to vote not enough evidence to indict anyone. Plug whole and look into putting out a game camera.

I have had raccoons just take off the heads of birds. It has only happened to me when the coon killed multiple birds, it would eat off of one then leave the others almost untouched.

Mink do cache their kills. It should still be around somewhere if it was a mink. They don't really do anything special with their cache, it is usually just underneath something nearby or in a burrow. Because they do cache their kills, if it was a mink you should have found that beheaded one underneath something or tucked away slightly.
