Missing Toenails

Hey Team,
I noticed today that one of my juvenile birds ( a Leghorn 8 weeks) is missing several toenails.
I am a newbie... Is that normal?

I also have a couple hens who are missing toenails. It usually happened after extreme cold for me.

I live Las Vegas...so cold is not the issue here.
But I Wondered if it is common to just be born that way?

Yes, chickens can be born without toenails.

It does occur, and is a genetic flaw. Not anything to be concerned about, just not to be bred on. Mary
