Missing toes on my Silkie

I have a Silkie rooster about 9 months old that was perfectly normal. The other day I seen he was walking weird. I picked him up and looked at his feet. He is now missing 2 toes on each foot. what could have happened to them? He can now barely walk. He has to use his one wing to help him balance.

I have heard of rats getting into a coop and chewing off toes, as well as a case of severe scaley leg mites causing toes to fall off. Of course, frostbite can also do this.
