Mission Control...we have LIFTOFF!!! Ooops, I mean LOCKDOWN!

I think I might have figured it out. I think it might have been consensation from the top dripped down on the egg. I did finally get the egg to move out of the liquid and the liquid is clear and there is no hole or crack or anything else in it. But with moving all of them, I think I irritated the one who is trying to hatch because the egg took a huge wobble after I stopped. Today there is more condensation on the top of the incubator, but I read that was normal. I haven't vented it because it's not too bad, unless it starts pooling on the floor!

Oh, that's a relief. That egg had me worried too! Maybe you should open the vent holes. I have a little condensation on the windows, but both of the incubator vents are open so they have proper ventilation.

That's what I thought too so I did vent it just a little tiny bit. My incubator is homemade so that's been half the curiosity to see if something so inexpensive would really work!!!! Whoever wants to be born is now REALLY loud. My son is sitting at the table playing on his iPod and can hear it with no trouble. I must have kicked things into gear with that wiggle. My last broody hen turned her eggs during the hatching period. I even saw her get up and take a quick move around. She hatched out four of eight eggs. Not great, but I'm hoping to do at least as well as she did.

Yeah!!!

Oh, my goodness!!!! I left to take the dogs for a walk and do my grocery shopping since I didn't think I would be able to tear myself away tomorrow and look what happened...CONGRAGULATIONS

I can now see my first pip and there is a lot more noise going on.

She is either a black or a blue Silkie! She is stumbling around between the other eggs looking for companionship. She even looks up at us like "aren't you going to pick me up?". It's starting to dry off and get a little more fluffy-her hair sooks spiked. She is so sweet.
