Missouri Chickens

Isn't that kind of Southwest of St Louis? It is still fairly rural there isn't it?

How many chickens do you have? Are you in a house surrounded by neighbors or more in the country with nobody to bother you about your chickens?

It's waaaay down hwy. 30, and yes it is pretty rural :) we get the best of both worlds being at a dead end road at the very back of an old community, we're one of the only ones lucky enough to have property that butts up to"non community" property, so even though technically I Wasn't allowed to have poultry or other critters I am the determined sort and set up an arrangement with my out of the community neighbor who's property meets with my six acres. All of my poultry and such are housed on the edge of his property and during the day they free range . My closest neighbors are retired, and love them, every day around 2 in the afternoon you can watch the poultry parade from my yard to the neighbor up the hill because the neighbor likes to sit down and feed them his kitchen scraps and other goodies. He's got them trained, sometimes the goat will tag along with them, but the flock never misses a day.
We got hit really hard this winter by a dog that killed one bird a day, in spurts, for weeks before i finally figured out it was him doing it and found him a home far away from my birds.
Currently we have two turkeys, one khaki drake,, two male guineas, six easter egger ladies and one Dominique girl left in the coop, but we've got three brooders full of 16 chicks, 3 ducks, and 1 Turkey in the dining room and I'm working on putting together a group hatchery order so I can get the rest of what i want and not have to order filler chicks to meet the minimum.

Hello! I am in St. Louis CITY - just two miles from downtown - with three light brahma hens. They are about 13 weeks old now, and we're getting ready to switch them to layer feed. Where do you get your feed? I had gotten chick/pullet feed online, but shipping is ridiculous and I'd like to find a local supplier. Cedar Hill's not too far!
