Does anybody know if the state of Missouri has any laws on chickens at large? I have a lady in my neighborhood who lets her chickens free range all over town (I live in a small town of like MAYBE 250 people) and they get everybody’s dogs riled up and my neighbors and I are tired of it. This lady knows her chickens run all over and doesn’t seem to care. I called my city hall and they have no ordinances on chickens running at large. So didn’t know if maybe there was some at the state level.

I'm not in Missouri, but I think these sorts of issues are usually regulated at a municipal or county level. Even if the laws don't address loose chickens specifically, is there anything about loose animals or livestock?

They have one pertaining to loose dogs but that’s all they said there was. I guess I need to call the county courthouse and see if they have anything pertaining to chickens even if it’s not chicken specific.

Macon County
Well, the county has no zoning. You do have a local rules-stting commision, who has rendered decisions on fencing, mudding, and a few other things. However, links to the website where they have supposedly published a few of those decisions don't seem to work.

Recommend you contact this person to find out where you have to go to search the commisions records of rules-making.
