Missourians are you out there?

I am new too, in Valley Park, about 20 min west of the city. Just started my new little flock. I have 2 silkies, 1 buff brahma bantam, and 1 jap black tail. Had two mottled cochins and a porcelain d'uccle but they turned out to be roos and I had to send them out to live on a farm Ü We are hoping to find more cochins later. Anyone showing anything at the Missouri State Fair this weekend. We are taking the kids to see all of the chickens.

The weather looks like it will be beautiful. I have never been to this fair before. Is it really crowded then? any tips you can give me would be appreciated!

All fairs are crowded. We went last year on Thursday evening (it was half price) so that was nice. Since we went in the evening though, parking was a long way off and had to take a hike to get to the gate. Of course, if you go in the morning, that should be better. The poultry barn is usually not very crowded. I would like to go again this year but not sure yet if we will make it. The poultry barn houses both the poultry and the rabbits. The first few days the chickens/geese/ducks etc will be there then they will be taken out and the space will be rabbits. Make sure you check the schedule to see which days the chickens are there. It would be a shame if you missed them.

Hi, Has anyone gone to the semo district fair? I haven't and was wondering how the poultry judging was going.

We are in Olive Branch, IL - just 25 minutes from Cape Girardeau, MO. We entered 4 chickens at the SEMO fair this past week & we did well! The kids had a blast & we came home with one each - first, second & third place ribbons. :)
