No school again. This time because of the wind chill. -20

Finally got a little sleep last night. Insomnia has been raging lately.

A hot cup of sbiten on a cold night. (Yeah, yeah, it's only a little after 5, but it's dark out, so that counts as night to me)

I'm unfamiliar with this beverage, so I looked it up. It sounds AMAZING! I need more honey!

I've been on a kick lately of Kombucha green tea - supposedly good for the immune system. I finally found a tea my 'sour crop' can handle.

Found my #1 cockerel, Moon Shadow, encouraging one of the pullets as she's laying her egg. He's standing by her, talking softly to her. I was very touched, I've never seen a male do this before. He's a 6½ month old Ameraucana. She's a Black Australorp, same age.

I am happy that I got 100g of live mealworms for my sick hen Mint. She stopped eating blue berries and only eat bugs in the garden now. I got those mealworms for her and she was over the moon...near dead and now over the moon on live mealworms...I am over the mooooooon too...

Pretty happy about that..but she is not out of the wood just yet...a bit more active than before. So long this is moving forward.

This is the first time I get mealworms and I am thinking of raising/growing them for my chickens as they are hefty on price and chickens just make them disappear so fast.

Other that think chickens are just food, they can not imagine that chickens also have feeling, know love, sad and know how to enjoy life.
