I've been through plenty of ice storms in Georgia, believe me. Rather have 100" of snow than a couple of inches of ice, I think. It's scarier when you have a bator going plus chicks in a brooder and a separate nursery coop and all MUST have power at the same time. The adult birds will do fine, just have to de-ice their water, but the babies must be warm enough. That's the main downside to hatching in the winter.
