I have been worried sick about my chickens. I put crushed ice out on the ground for them, a carton of sour cream, a partial carton of yogurt, cantalope, put the sprinkler on!!

I have three out of five e.e.'s making horrible noises like they are having trouble breathing. My DH keeps telling me that they will be fine but I am so worried as this will go on through at least Tuesday. I saw where someone had already lost two due to heat and that wasn't as hot as it is here! Coop seems to be the coolest place and the only animals smart enough to know this is the cats! Thank goodness I have my mama hen and her five chicks caged in there. Oh, the ducks are the only ones I am not worried about. They are staying in the shade in their kiddie pool.

Hello Everyone just an update i forgot this thread was here my chicks are now laying

we get 8 or 9 per day now woo hoo they started laying 2 weeks ago
Anyone have a Buff Orpington roo to get rid of or sell i have all girls, was hoping for a mistake but nope all girls lol

Hi they are 21 weeks old and was laying right at 19 weeks when they started to the day these are the red sex links the oprington's are not laying yet i have 12 of the rsl's and 13 orpingtons all the same age
i'll let you know if i can when they start to lay
