Hi y'all,

SW MO here, about ten minutes from Pineville, Anderson, and Goodman. I got into the chick business thanks to my grandson they hatched the chicks at school and he brought two home to me, and of course I thought they needed some friends, lol. Anyway we have 10 chicks now, two broilers, I think that would be what they were called?, three-Silver Penciled Wyandottes, Three- Brown Leghorns, and I think two- Red Sex Link, and last week we rescued a Banty Rooster from the Animal Shelter in Neosho, he is gorgeous, Oh and I have one guinea that managed to survive the ice storm we had in Feb. I felt bad for her and wired a mirror to her pen so she wouldn't feel alone, it is so cute she sets in front of it and looks at herself, lol my kids think I have lost my mind??? They just don't get it!!!!! :jumpyChicks Rule

Hi Shirl, I think you may be North of Joplin??? I am almost thirty miles south and 60 would put you in Springdale, AR. We go through your town alot, we have a horse in Lowry City being trained/broke by the Amish. And in a few weeks I will be picking up my new addition to the family, a Min Pin, he is in Liberal, MO

Welcome chicksrule!

I , too, have two guineas. I started with four but let them out too soon after their arrival and lost two of them. Next morning these two came back. I put a mirror in the pen and they love it. When I got my five grown chickens ...the rooster took to the mirror immediately. he thought he was marvelous!

Thanks Ozark Hen,, I am getting ready to get some more guineas, waiting for the weather to decide for sure what it is going to do, lol I lost my other guineas and was told she wouldn't make it by herself well she proved them wrong. During the ice storm, we were without power for 11 days and she stayed in the house and came through it fine. I figured seeing as how we had gotten so attached that I should name her, so I call her Gertrude, Gertie for short.

Shirl, I was hoping that I wouldnt offend, and I myself get a little confused with direction as well, but, Hey I'm a woman I get around by landmarks not North, East, South or West. You know turn left at the Wal-Mart and right at the Sonic, LOL

Hi Chicks Rule i'm not offended at all it's nice to see someone else who goes by left and right
