Hello guys, just a quick question. I have a coop that you can walk into and everytime I walk in, I come out scratching myself from head to toe, and theyre mites. Ive seen all sorts of types green ones, red ones, big ones, small ones and its really annoying. I have been trying to look for the best spray but i am not sure which is most effective. I had this problem last year so I used earth diatomaceous and mixed it with water and used as spray to spray all the walls, it seemed to work but the problem is that it is stained the walls and I dont want to do that again. So what mite killer do I use and which is most effective? Are they brands or only one type? Please let me know. Thanks
.
Most people sprinkle it around the coop under the bedding. Another option is sulphur dust. If you have access to ashes (like from a wood stove or bonfire) this is also used under the bedding and spread on the roost bars. It is important to have a spot where the birds can dust bathe. I was told that putting ashes in their dust bath will also help (I plan to do this when I get enough).
