Hi y'all!
I have a problem. And I can't solve it.
Basically since mid-december, my chickens have been having a mite problem?
I've tried EVERYTHING!!! Mite spray, diatomaceous earth, separating the flock, bathing them, putting them outside the coop at night, cleaning out the coop and run, etc.
Does anyone have any other solutions besides the above listed?
Thanks!
(Attached beneath are pictures of my chickens.)

Where are you located in the world?

What type of mite spray have you tried - was it a permethrin spray or something "natural"?

How much space in your coop/run?

What do you feed, including treats?

Have you treated the coop?

Some of the feather loss is likely due to mating, but I would treat them all with a Permethrin spray or dust in 7 day intervals. Treat their housing as well.

Feathers that are broken off or places where the follicles are still in the skin won't re-feather back into until they molt.

I'm in the U.S. located in the West Coast.
We tried the permethrin spray in 7-day intervals but that didn't help.
We have 9 square ft. in our coop.
They are a free ranging flock, they eat any grass or plants while foraging. We also give them mealworms as treats. (Sometimes we sneak them old leftovers!)(Which are chicken-edible obviously.)
I don't think it's mating because our roo has lost most of his feathers along with the hens.
How do you suggest we treat our coop?

Do you give any supplemental feed like layer/all flock type feeds?

Feathers that are damaged won't come back in until molt, so depending on how old they are, they may look that way for a good while.

You still see mites on them at night and in their housing after treating them?

What makes you think it was mites and still is mites?

Have you sat and watched their behaviour?

Are you still seeing live crawlers?

Try ivermectin spot on, it works really well.

We only give them supplemental feed while we are on vacation.
Well actually, we've never caught the mites in action. We only think they have mites because of their loss of feathers.

What makes us think it was and still is mites is that they have extreme feather loss, and swelling where the mites bit them. (See above pictures in original post.)
I have watched their behavior, however was not able to catch anything out of the ordinary.
No we have not seen live crawlers at all actually. We only assume it was mites because of the feather loss.
I will try that suggestion, thanks!
