A week ago I discovered that my girls had stopped laying because of mites. I've dusted them with permethrin, cleaned and dusted the coop, and bleached the coop. I need to get more permethrin to dust the girls again.

I've checked their vents, under their wings, and their bellies for mites and don't see any. Is there any other place I should look for them? They are eating normally again, and I'm giving them BOS to up their protein. How long does it take to get them laying again after mites?

Thanks for your help?

Is it cold in colorado? I would suggest a bath... if it is cold i would keep them inside for a day after, then bring them out, depending on how many you have, if that is out of the option, then i would go with the dusting. From now on i would routinely dust and check your birds for mites...Are they free range?

Theres really no way of knowing when they will lay again. if you really in a hurry for eggs you can increase there lighting bye an hour or two a day.
Take care,
Mark
