mites = bare bottom?

Depending on the age it varies.

My birds get fresh greens, layer feed if they are past point of first lay, I'm currently using Egg Maker Crumbles (BlueSeal) if I could get it I'd use flock raiser and oyster shell, along with whatever comes in range of their beaks.

They do get a bit of scratch but not that much and I'm considering eliminating it.

My young girls are on flock raiser but the local feed store doesn't carry it normally. I got the last batch at a different store on the way to camp, too far to go in the winter. They will shortly be on egg maker.

So you don't get the impression our girls don't get treats, they do, over ripe cucumbers, tomatoes, watermelon (we go through three of these at a time, so the girls get a lot of the pink and red stuff, the rind gets pickled), we also allow them pumpkins, trash barrels of raked leaves (plenty of things besides leaves) which they shred and raise bugs in, scrambled eggs, and an assortment of other goodies.

That is it!! My girls told me I was calling it the wrong thing. They are all on Flock Raiser and Super scratch.
We give them left over veges stuff too. They don't seem to like lettuce much but watermelon and carrot etc
I was told pumpkin seeds are bad for them as they can choke.
