MITES i need HELP

My favorit chicken lost some of her feathers from what i thought was from the other hens pecking at her, today i went to go check on her and i seen little black specks crawling so i guess it was mites i put dust bug beater on her to help her (my dad told me to) my dad said i have to spray this type of stuff(diffrent from the bug beater) all over the coop and every where what is a safer more cheaper thing to do. and will she dye????

ps. shes 7 months a silver laced cochin and shes my baby

You have to treat everything at least twice, 10 days apart, to kill the eggs. You should really clean the coop out and replace the litter as part of the treatment. I would think the cheapest thing to use is Sevin 5% garden dust.
