I just took a Call Duck a friend of mine rescued from an auction. It has mites, so I need to treat before I can add it to my flock. Has anyone ever treated mites in small ducks? Any help for this poor guy would be great!
Thanks!

I use sevin dust in the duck house. That keeps the mites down for me. I have heard some people sprinkle it on them. Good luck.

Yes, definitely treat the duck before you add it to your flock.

You can dust the duck with mite powder (get it into the feathers and ruffle them so the dust gets down to the skin), or dip the bird in a permethrin solution or use a spot-on treatment like Ivomectin or Revolution for dogs (just a couple of drops on the skin at the back of the neck).

Sounds like this duck is going to have a much happier life with you than wherever it was it came from. :)
