Mites in home after trying to rescue baby chick

Hello!
A couple days ago I came across an abandoned baby chick I tried to help (unfortunately it didn’t work out). But I woke up constantly in the middle of the night today being crazy scratchy. I’m not sure if I’m just paranoid about mites and my body is just making things up but I’m terrified I may have introduced the mites into my home. I showered right after every interaction but my clothes sat in the laundry basket a day (dad wouldn’t let me clean them as apparently not enough laundry accumulated).

I was reading online apparently mites can live off of the chicken on human blood and infest the house. I also have pet mice and does anyone know if the mites will attack them?

I don’t know anything about this stuff but I’m super spooked and if I did indeed introduce mites my dad will literally kill me.

Trying to search my bed and find one. I Have a microscope I can stick it under.

They could be lice or mites. Have you found any on your person? The two look quite different. Do a google search to see what they look like.
They likely won't infest the whole house. Most of the culprits don't live off the bird very long so will want to stay close to a food source.

I haven’t found any directly on me but I can feel my skin crawling from time to time and feel bites. I looked up mites and lice and I’m fairly sure it was mites on the chicken. They were grey and red.
