MITES MITES MITEs

THEY ARE SO ANNOYING! how do i get rid of them...
i use DE in my coops..
but the mights are going crazy less on the birds and more in the nesting boxes and such...
everytime i pick up a egg mites all over my hand..gross..
please help me with this annoying pest

Mites are hard - get some sevin dust or poultry dust. You'll need to dust your birds something like every 5 days for a few weeks - but you also need to completely clean out your coop - dust the floor/corners, next boxes and disinfect your roosts. Unlike lice, Mites will live off the host and will continue to re-infect your birds if you don't get them all.

It may take a few weeks, but if you keep up with it, you'll get them.

I know many use DE - but it doesn't always work. Sounds like you need to use a pesticide this time and use DE as maintainence.
