Hello,
I have a beautiful 5 yr old rooster name Henry and lately about 3 days ago i''ve notice that his feathers been falling out under his neck down to his tail & also the area between the shank & the front hock joint... I don't know if its mites or molting but his skin is red & as i take a closer look it looks what appears to pin feathers but i really can't tell... He seems normal active eating, drinking, digging for bugs just doing his normal routine...However i do see him scratching himself from time to time we have lots of stray cats, wild birds, that comes around when feeding Henry...So it could be fleas /& or mites but i'm really not sure....Please help!

You may want to check him at night time with a flash light.
A lot of people are having mite infestations right now.

Separate the feathers around his vent, under his wings and on his neck. That is where they usually reside. If he has mites, you will see the eggs and bugs if they are there. I spray mine one to two times a month with poultry protector by manna pro. It is a preventative but will also kill any bugs if they are there. It is worth it to have on hand. It is around $11 and lasts a while. I don't know if he is molting or not but I would spray him just in case especially since they usually only in the fall not spring/summer. Good luck - hopefully he doesn't have them.
