Bug bombed the attached garage today (that was where I stored the chicken food and saw mites there too). I used 3 different bombs at the same time and SOME MITES ARE STILL ALIVE. Forget cockroaches taking over after Armageddon, my money's on mites.

Anyway, everything is as clean as it's going to get. I threw away any open bag of food. I don't see any mites currently on the new cardboard brooder in the basement but I'll attempt to sneak down tonight after it's been dark for about an hour with a flashlight, if I'm still awake.

There's still mites in the kitchen but again, greatly reduced. I'll try and check it out again after the lights have been off for awhile.

Off to do non-mite activities!

Yuuuukkk. I think they DO like to jump ship. I leaned into our coop to get eggs and came out with my hair infested. SOOO itchy! A shower killed them though. THe coop and chooks got dusted right away!!!

OMG. I don't even have my chickens yet and after reading this thread, I'm thinking I'll turn my brand new $8000 chicken coop and run into a mini Bed & Breakfast.
