Mites????

I have never had them before with my flocks. Is it mites? Only one of my girls has it.

It looks like another chicken has beat her up. That looks like dried blood and peck marks, or she could have injured herself on some wire fencing if she ran into some.

You may want to slowly introduce her to the rest by placing her in a wire dog crate with her own food and water, so that they can all see each other, but no one gets hurt.

I thought blood or dirt at first too.
Most likely blood, but since she is new you might want to check her real good for lice and or mites.

That actually looks like it could be sticktight fleas. I hope not though, they are a pain in the neck to treat.

It doesn't look like stick tight fleas to me, just bloody injuries. But you probably should look her over for any evidence of lice and mites on the skin around the vent, head, neck, and under wings.

I did that. The was in her own run within the run for 3 weeks!

I checked her body and didn't see anything similar, but will look more carefully in the morning. Then I will try washing her head...that should be so much fun!!!!
