Mites?

That’s a tough one. Are the other two new also? Typically you don’t want to mix birds from separate flocks until after a quarantine period.

They are not new no. I would wait a couple weeks anyway for quarantine before putting her with them, but I didnt know if her feathers would be growing back by then. I just want to be 100% sure it’s not mites!
I should know for sure by then if it’s mites right?
I’ve been lucky enough to have never dealt with mites before so not really sure how all this works lol

You can dust them with permethrin poultry dust just to be on the safe side.

Yes, I think you’ll know. It wouldn’t hurt to treat her for mites. She may also benefit from a numb in her protein to help with new feather growth.

I’ve looked at the base of her feathers and don’t see anything moving or built up. I have noticed her back has pretty dry skin. This is where she’s missing most feathers. There’s no flakyness but the skin seems drier than normal. Could that be what’s causing feathers to fall out?
Look around her vent for bugs...re read my post about how to look ;)

If she's an older bird(over 12 months) she may be molting....which would be good.
Give her a good chicken ration, at least 18% protein, and fresh plain water.
No herbs, spices. magic elixirs, supplements, etc.

I just looked again when I brought her in and didn’t see anything.

She is a year to a year and a half so i did think it was possible she was just molting. I’m going to pick up so permethrin tomorrow just as a precaution but im thinking it’s thankfully just molting or the rooster is over breeding her
