mites

what is the best product for treating mites my chicken is infected what should i do
Where are you located in the world?

In the US you can easily find a Permethrin based Poultry Spray or dust to treat your flock and housing. Tractor Supply or similar stores carry it. You can also order it from Amazon.

If you have one chicken infested, then treat ALL your chickens + housing (clean out bedding too). Repeat in 7-10 day intervals.

Spinosad (Elector PSP) is more expensive but it's reported to be very effective for treating external parasites as well. The concentrate will last a very long time.

Is your chicken acting sick too?

I already posted this but If you want to bathe your birds, every over-the-counter (OTC) treatment for head lice contains either pyrethrins (Rid or Triple X) or permethrin (Nix). They are effective treatment. Both only kill live pests, not the pests eggs. Also I would recommend spraying your coop. I personally use permethrin. It's just as effective as Elector PSP as far as I'm concerned but much more cost effective. I spray all of my coops thoroughly, every crack and crevice, everywhere and repeat for at least 3 weeks because it does not kill the pests eggs. The bonus is there is no egg withdrawal period. I also use poultry dust in the nest boxes. I have tried a lot of different things. I use permethrin. It works. If you have a TSC they carry the permethrin dust, the premixed spray bottles and the concentrate. Good luck...
