Well, if you introduce them to stone and such from outside, it could have red mites, same with dirt. But i doubt he would have mites.I have a 2 week old baby Serama that I hatched out of an incubator. He is still in the house in a brooder, never been around any other chickens or outside. Can he have mites? How do they get mites if they aren’t outside or exposed to other chickens?
Thank youWell, if you introduce them to stone and such from outside, it could have red mites, same with dirt. But i doubt he would have mites.
No problem.Thank you
Some mites only come out at night to feed on the birds. I use a headlamp so I have both of my hands free to inspect the birds after they roost. I also take some paper towels and wipe on and under the roosts and look for streaks on the paper towel which is also a sign of mites. Good luck...Seems unlikely. Why do you think he has mites? If you have other chickens who have them, you can transport them on your person, too. They don't survive long on people, but they can live long enough to get to a new set of chickens.
