Mites????

When I picked up my chicken today I noticed these dots on her comb - to me they kinda looked like mites, which i’ve never dealt with before. But then I thoroughly checked all around her vent and there was nothing- which is we here I’ve heard they tend to congregate. The only other thing I can think of is tiny little peck marks from the other girls? Anyone have any idea? She’s acting totally normal- eating drinking and laying often.

I also did check the roosts and I didn’t see anything.

None of the other chcikens have anything either.

Judging by the responses to a similar post I'd guess peck marks.

That very well could be but in my other chcikens when they get small peck marks they usually look more black? not this dark red color.

They could be fresh peck marks...

I also don’t think so because she has some sort of on the underside of her comb which would not be visible to the others unless lifted around .

If it's pox you could try using iodine on it. Mites I'm not sure you'd likely need some kind of insecticide....

Hmm i’m just very torn because I feel like if it was mites she would have it other places too?
