I just noticed that some of my babies how are a few months old have mites. They are tiny red bugs around the neck and head close to the skin. On the feathers next to the skin is a bunch of white looking tiny bubbles,I am guessing that that is eggs? How do we get rid of them and how can we prevent them from coming back? Thanks!!

Sevin Dust. Make sure you do under the wings and around the vent area really well.

We add wood ash to our coop about once a month. About a half trash can to a full can. Our birds are mite free!

Those are lice. Mites are rarely ever found on the bird.... Ivermectin pour on...between the wings... 5 drops for an average size hen... every 6 months.
