I think my hens have mites! Some are missing feathers around their bottoms and they have little specks around their vent. What should I do?!?

Start by dusting them with Sevin dust or poultry dust. Let us know if you aren't sure how to do that. Then clean out the coop and dust around there before putting in fresh bedding. Dust them again in 7 days to catch ones that may have hatched. In the meatime, start reading up on mites and see if there are other things you can do to prevent/control them. Good luck!

So the seven dust won't hurt them if they accidentally eat it?

It might hurt them if they eat it. The way I dust is to hold the chicken and sprinkle some under each wing and then liberally sprinkle some around their vent feathers. Then I try to "poof" around their vent feathers to make sure it gets down to skin.

when you find out how to prevent them please share cause I cant find a way to
