Has anyone had success with eliminating bird mites, on the chickens, and then in your house?
Ouch! I hate these pests!

this stuff was recommended from a exterminator, we used this 71-1kNK+huL._SX425_.jpg in the house killed every thing with 2 treatments 1 in morn 1 in the eve even kills spiders and crickets

its pet safe my dog had mites sprayed him all gone and its bio degradable

For chickens you can get some permethrin spray or dust and spray it into their feathers. Just don’t get it in their eyes!

I highly recommend that you purchase some permethrin asap.
This is a ready to use one:
It is also sold in a concentrate that must be mixed with water...in specific amounts for both use in the coop and on the bird. They differ.

Thank you so much for your excellent and caring suggestions.
Because I'm sensitive to chemicals, like 'the girls', I placed diatomaceous earth under the sawdust in the coop and under sawdust in their nesting boxes. They dusted themselves with it and it got into the corners well, so no more Mites.
Boy, oh boy, ...if I ever see birds building a nest on my windowsill again, I'll make sure to eliminate it before this happens again. Not worth the problems it caused just to watch baby birds grow up and fledge. They left behind all the voracious nasty Mites that had been living on their blood. Note to self...
No more Mr nice guy.

Good luck with the DE...I would not count on it to rid your mite problem.
