Does anyone have experience mixing ground birds like quail with birds like a cockatiel and parakeets?

Button quail are a great clean up crew for finches and parakeets. They clean up spilt seed and are a great joy to watch. Just be careful..... they are addicting!

I second this! LOL! I always wanted a pair of love birds as they just seemed like wonderful birds.....NOT. They were handfed as chicks but once they were a few months older (puberty?) they got REALLY nasty could go in for the kill on anyone or anything around them....they'd escape their cage (as they knew how to open it) and would fly on my parakeets cage and try to bite their toes and BEAKS off. I dont trust those lil' loons! LOL I could easily see them decapitate a poor button

Yeah, we had a pair of love birds for a while until I took them outside for fresh air and the little houdinis escaped. I have to say it didn't make me sad at all. As for quail, we have bobwhites, but they seem gentle enough. Maybe I'll try it. Then I won't keep banging my head on the cages in the tree in the yard.

haha i bet a lot of people loose lovebirds this way (them escaping). The pair i had I couldnt give away... in teh end my mom bought them from me, and she put them in her bathroom... i had been shopping with her and we came home and couldn't find the lovebirds...happened to look and there they were drowned in the toilet!!! Here they must have gotten out and one either slipped in teh toilet OR they wanted to bathe and the toilet and once water logged couldnt get out and i assume freaked out and drowned really sad but they caused their own deaths...for being so smart that was pretty dumb lol
