Mixed Breed Chickens!

Dad is an Easter Egger/Ameraucana, Mom is a Plymouth Rock (is at the bottom of picture 1).
About 2 months old. Not sure if it's a Rooster or a Hen yet, but it sure is pretty.

We hatched out some Silkie/ Cochin mix eggs recently. Actually my daughter was getting interested in genetics and we called it a homeschool science experiment

. We kept one pair, they are so cute and my kid's favorite chickens.

I like their color too! The interesting part is that we had nine of these chicks and they were all exactly the same color even though the eggs were laid by black, white and buff silkie hens. My Cochin rooster is splash...

Here are some of my mutt chickens. I'm working on red and buff Colombian markings in brahmas and lf Cochins. The barred chicken is in my separate meat bird flock, but he's a cute little guy with lots of personality.

We got 10 chicks from a co-worker. The three below, one that looks like a Barred Rock hen, and a BR roo. All my co-worker told me about parentage was the roo was all black and the hen was a BR.
