Mixed breed flock pros, cons and goals

Hi y’all, I have always maintained a mixed breed flock and I wonder how do other people feel about their own flocks?

When I was a novice at chicken keeping I overdid it and had a flock that was way too diverse for me to handle. Now I’m much more planned out. I look for a docile well laying medium size breeds and I plan to do selective breeding to create a unique cross breed of chickens I can own on my farm. Right now I have Barred Plymouth rocks ,2 lines of Easter eggers and silverudd blues.

overall I just want to now what other People enjoy about having mix breed flocks and their experiences and goals while keeping them?

I have about 50 chickens and not more than 4 are the same breed. I enjoy the diversity in egg colors and like having no clue what my chicks are going to look like and getting some really interesting mixes.

I am with FFF, love the diversity but I also like pure breeds too... oh AI just like chickens. Lol
