We have 11 chicks. Some are mixed breeds, some lavender orpingtons, and a couple silkies. There are 4 that developed their combs super early, and I am thinking 4 roos! I have multiple pictures, not super great, but I was trying to stay out of the run and not have to run inside for my chicken boots before it rained. Here is about 19 pics of the same 4 that I have my eyes on for roosters.

1 lavender orpington, 1 leghorn mix, 1 black copper maran mix, and 1 who knows what... but it is brown and black (and super sweet!). I tried to label the pics with arrows. They are about 7 weeks old.

Thank you!!

I think you are right, the big obvious combs are cockerels, the small colorless combs are pullets. There were a few that had small combs with a little color. Those are the tricky ones, since it could be a slow developing cockerel or a fast developing pullet, so maybe some updated pictures in a week or two would help.

Do you need help with knowing what to do with them?

Thank you so much! I am not sure I know what you mean about knowing what to do with them. <3 Do you mean what to do with so many roosters?

The four you suspect are indeed cockerels. The buff and black one is a buff orpington mix.
Thank you so much! He is SO sweet!! He was the most adorable fluffy chick- and seemed to tell everyone what to do, right away. Now, he is still the sweetest thing, and doesn't seem to have any aggressive behavior yet. <3

Yeah, if you need help re-homing them, or finding a sanctuary or the like. I can share some things that have worked for me.
Ah, thank you! <3 I am kinda sorta hoping they all get along. BUT, I have also thought about if they don't... they can free range with our turkeys. I have asked a friend about doing that, and she said her roosters/turkeys get along fine. Their runs are right next to each other (You can see the turkey babies in the background in some of the pictures). I am hoping they can get along with them, and roost with them at night, if need be.

But, I know we will just have to cross that bridge when we get there, as well. Hopefully they will all just get along. But when I was taking pictures, I saw the maran and the brown/black one sparring. :/ It was quick... and then they stopped. So... they may already be showing some strong personalities. lol

What a great idea. I have seen a multi rooster approach work best in a very large flock. Not sure how big yours is, but you never know what they'll do till they do it.

We only have 15 birds, including these 11 chicks. So if 4 are roosters- we would most certainly have too many. 🙈 We may even have more than that! lol If so, hopefully they like each other-- and turkeys. lol
