I'm starting a mix right now: Production Red Rooster and Black Sex Link Hen and I am also doing Barred Rock Rooster and Production Red Hen to make Black Sex Links

This is Rodger: Splash Blue Laced Red Wyandotte Roo x Buff Wyandotte Hen

He was buff colored as a chick and feathered in with the lacing, He was the only one like this in his clutch though. He has 30 babies in the brooder now and 32 more eggs in the incubator. The only Splash he shows in a smudge on his tail but he's got quite a few splash babies. I have been told he would still be considered the Blue Laced Red, but I call him Buff Laced.

He's wonderfully sweet, I actually rehomed his daddy because Rodger was more mellow. He's gentle with the hens and gets along well with my other(new) rooster, Blue Wyandotte in back left of this picture. --->

does any one know what you would call a road island red and a black sex link chicken when they breed together and have baby chickens? And what would they look like? please let me know.

That cross won't make sexlinks, hens have to be barred, not the roo. All chicks wil be barred.

I kmow if you cross a RIR roo and a Barred Rock hen you get a black star. What would the cross look like switched around. Would the hens production be as good.

A sexlink doesn't automaticlly lay better because it is a sexlink. All chicks will be barred and will lay as good as the sexlinks, if they're hens, that is.

I have 2 EE/Splash Jersey Giant chicks in the brooder that hatched Saturday. The chicks are blue, I will post a picture later, and as they grow up.

Does anyone have pictures of Welsummer X Ameracauna birds? (Olive Eggers) I have 2 Welsummer pullets in the brooder right now and Bought them with the intention of breeding them to an Ameracauna Roo for OE chicks next year.
