Good morning and please and thank you in advance

We have recently adopted some quail ranging in age from 2 years to the youngest set being 9 weeks there the total of 15

We are going to be finding homes for about 10 of them we hope to keep 3 to 4 females and a Male

We will be getting some ring neck pheasents chicks in on 03_13

And chukar partridge shortly after on 5/20

We are hoping to keep

2-3 females of each & 1 male of each

Could all of them live comfortably with no issues in the same coop ??

Their coop will be plenty big enough lots of roosting spots and room as we like to double + a little extra the required about of space of each bird.

We like know every one will have their own space n can walk around with out having to fight or peck

We keep lots of enrichment toys for our chickens n flock blocks so we are also including room for those as well.

Also to note ! We would not be adding the chick in right away ! They would be at least 4+ weeks old still not sure in exact age yet as we are still doing research

Any advice is welcome please and thank you!

I have had golden pheasants with quail with no problem, but I've heard it's not a good idea to keep ringnecks with quail as they'll kill them.
The only reason I don't have chukars is because I read that they're very aggressive and you can't keep them with other birds.

I don't have ringnecks or chukars so this is just what I've heard (and the reason I don't have them). Someone who has owned them may have better advice or know more about the situation.

Also, what species of quail do you have?

I have the common browns, they go by alot of names lol I'm learning.

I have a similar “mixed” flock in an aviary setting. I will not lie, it presents challenges and you have to be prepared for the occasional loss of the smallest bird (quail). BUT, if you add the larger species as chicks and they grow up together, there can be harmony. (but there can also be the occasional appearance of an overly aggressive bird). Biggest issue beyond that is when the larger birds hit maturity (breeding age) they do not differentiate among species and may inadvertently injure or kill a quail hen trying to breed it.

I don't think we honestly need the male pheasents n chuckars unless it helps the females.

I enjoy the male quail bc of the crow if it was as not soo cute I'd probably not keep them as well
We will be only keeping one male quail and the 4 females

The pheasants chicks will be kept in the nursery area we have for chicks once they get 2 + weeks old should I place a quail hen with them or just wait a little longer and them to coop?

My quails are not kept in a traditional coop for them it resembles more of a chicken coup if anything I didn't like seeing them in those small box like things and I don't mind looking around for their eggs lol

chukars are nearly impossible to differentiate gender and ringnecks take about 3ish months before can definitively determine gender (exception being melanistic mutants) while quail mature and can be sexed at 3-8 weeks. As far as integrating, you can put the chicks in with quail as soon as they no longer need accessory heat. my aviary is approximately 700 sq ft with several hiding places. while quail only require 1sq ft per bird, the chukar and pheasant will require more space as adults. other issue to consider with your set-up is that pheasant and chukar can be very flighty and if they escape, it is rare that they can be retrieved. you don’t list your location....does your state require a permit for the birds you are planning to get?

Thank you ! I think we will be holding off on the pheasants and chukars.. we are just not set up properly to have them effectively harmonize!
