Mixed flock of colored silkies

I am getting ready to order some silkies from a hatchery. Will the flock mingle together if I got different colors, or will they separate into flocks of the same color? Sorry to ask such a stupid question, but inquiring minds want to know.
I guess a better question would be will the darker colors tend to pick on the lighter colored birds. My sex links,which are on their way out, attacked my white silkies for the feathers. When I separated the two flocks the white silkies did not peck at each others wounds, which were pretty bloody and bad. This was unlike my flock of sex link hens. This has made me wonder- if I mixed in the different colors would one gang up on the other. Even though I can't picture silkies ganging up on anything, I just don't want to make a mistake at this. If I need to stick with just the whites I will. Thanks for any input on this. ) I appreciate it.

Oh I certainly hope not!

I don't believe they do, as none of my hard-feathered birds have ever "segregated" themselves into color groups. But, I suppose some birds may have a preference over another?

If they did segragate themselves it would make breeding for shows much easier!

Its not a stupid question if you seriously dont know ask!

But no if they are all in the same coop they will mix in colors but most likely you dominate rooster will have more offspring from your hens. If your going to do a multicolored coop in the silkies get the Blues and the Black and The Splashed those you want to keep together because the blues through 25%black 25%splash 50%blue. they are your best bet to keep together. My experience has been that if mixed colours are raised together they all mingle together and get along fine--colour has little or nothing to do with whom they hang out with. But if you raise a flock of all one colour, and never let them see or mingle with different appearing bords they will tend to segregate into their own flocks and pick on birds of different colours.
